Carcanet Farmhouse

Location

Carcanet Farmhouse is a 30 minute drive south from the Caen ring road, the Periphereque, and is set in beautiful rolling countryside at the start of the routes into the Suisse Normande.

It is in the hamlet of Culey Le Patry which is ~ 5kms. southwest from Thury-Harcourt.

Cross Channel Ferries

• Portsmouth – Caen (Ouistreham) by Brittany Ferries and 45 minutes drive to Carcanet
• Portsmouth - Le Havre or Cherbourg and 1 hour 45 minutes drive to Carcanet
• Newhaven - Dieppe by Transmanche and 2 hours 30 minutes drive to Carcanet
• In summer Fastcat crossings also operate on these routes
• Dover - Calais or Boulogne and 4 hour drive to Carcanet

Directions from Caen ring road to Carcanet Farmhouse

1. Take exit 11 from the southern section of the Caen ring road, the "Periphique Sud" (N814), on to the D562 towards Flers/Thury-Harcourt
2. Stay on this road for ~ 20 km
3. Go through Thury-Harcourt and continue on D562
4. At Pont de la Mousse, ~5 kms south of Thury-Harcourt, take the D133, on the right, for Culey le Patry and go over the River Orne. Turn immediately left onto the D166 at the junction after the bridge and take the third right onto the D211, signposted to Culey Le Patry
5. Go through this hamlet
6. Approximately 1 km. from Culey Le Patry, past a religious cross on the right hand side of the road, turn right at Carcanet signpost and take the left of the two parallel roads
7. The farmhouse is at end of this short lane, on the left, with double iron gates at the entrance
